Traveling Doll

Last year it was decided that we would hold a group project called the Traveling Doll at Pullip Finland forum. We bought a Pullip doll together and starting from the beginning of 2017 it'll visit everyone who wanted to participate in the project.

The idea is to take photos of the traveling doll while she's visiting you and at the end of her journey, we have a fun collection of pictures of her travels! When the project is completed, we'll draw lots to see who will win the doll and her garderobe.

Viime vuonna päätettiin järjestää Pullip Suomi-foorumilla yhteisprojekti Matkanukke. Ostimme yhdessä Pullip-nuken ja vuoden 2017 alusta lähtien se kiertää kaikkien niiden luona, jotka halusivat osallistua projektiin (ja kustannuksiin).

Ideana on se, että jokainen ottaa nukesta valokuvia, ja siten saadaan hauska kuvasarja nuken matkasta. Matkan lopuksi nukke ja sen tavarat arvotaan kaikkien osallistuneiden kesken.

Keskiyöhön ja vuoden vaihtumiseen on vielä aikaa, mutta olen menossa ystäväni luokse juhlimaan joten postaan vähän aikaisin!

Hyvää uutta vuotta 2017 eli kukon vuotta, kaikille ystävilleni ja blogini lukijoille! Toivottavasti tästä tulee kiva vuosi meille kaikille yhdessä nukkien, figuurien ja lelujen kanssa!

Kirjoitan pohdiskelujani vuodesta 2016 sekä myöhemmin suunnitelmistani vuodelle 2017 kunhan olen selvinnyt juhlinnasta! Nyt Kreisibailaamaan! :D

Pullip Akemi! - 05 December

As you've noticed, I've been very inactive with Pullip dolls for many years. But suddenly something perked up my interest in Groove's creations again. I started playing with my Isul dolls and then time was ripe for me to order a new Groove Inc. doll in a long time.

I decided I was going to get the doll (and dolls) I've admired for a long time but didn't purchase before because I thought I wasn't that interested in Groove dolls anymore. Pullip Akemi is a doll who I've loved even before she was released. It was easy to decide on her to be the one to start my Pullip collection anew.

Kuten olette huomanneet, en ole juurikaan valokuvannut Pullip-nukkejani pitkiin aikoihin. Mutta yllättäin jokin sai innostukseni niihin taas syttymään. Aluksi aloin leikkiä Isul-nukkieni kanssa ja sitten aika oli kypsä uuden Groove Inc. -nuken hankkimiselle. Pitkästä aikaa.

Päätin, että nyt kun olen taas innostunut Groove-nukeista, hankin itselleni ne mallit joita olen aina ihastellut etäisyyden päästä. Pullip Akemi on nukke, jota ihastelin jo ennen kuin se julkaistiin. Oli helppoa päätyä siihen, että se sai kunnian olla nukke, joka aloittaa Groove-nukkien uuden aikakauden Spican elämässä.

Advent Calendar Door 17 - Koujaku Custom Taeyang Commission - first peek!

Ever since I started collecting Groove inc.'s dolls and learned that you could customize them, I've toyed with the idea of getting custom dolls made of some of my favorite characters.

In one of my very first posts to the finnish Pullip forum back in 2011 I wrote something along the lines of: "my dream would be to get Taeyang-dolls of Togainu no Chi's characters Akira and Keisuke. Maybe I'll customize those for myself someday. *sigh* *dreams*"
(Just remembered that that comment I wrote on the forum caused one thing to lead to another. And in the end it gained me a new friend in a fellow Nitro+Chiral fan who I'm pretty close friends with even to this day. You know who you are. :) Wow, it's been, what, 3 years already?! How the time flies... Here's for "old time's" sake!)

Siitä lähtien kun aloin kerätä Grooven nukkeja ja sain tietää että niitä voi myös customoida, olen leikitellyt ajatuksella siitä että jokin päivä omistaisin custom-nukkeja jotka olisi tehty lempparihahmojen mukaan.

Yksi ensimmäisistä kommenteistani, joita olen kirjoittanut Pullip Suomi-foorumille kuuluu näin: "Unelmani olisi myös Togainu no Chi pelistä ja animesarjasta Akira ja Keisuke -Taeyangit! Ehkä customoin joskus itselleni sellaiset... *huokaus* *unelmointia*"
(Muistin muuten juuri tätä kirjoittaessa, että tuolla kommentillani oli kauaskantoisempiakin vaikutuksia. Sen avulla tutustuin erääseen kanssa-Nitro+Chiral fanittajaan josta sain uuden ystävän ja olemme edelleen läheisiä ystäviä tänäkin päivänä. Tiedät kyllä kuka olet. :) Wow, siitä on jo mitä, 3 vuotta?! Aika se vaan rientää... Tässä "vanhojen aikojen" muistoksi!)

Noh, vielä ei ollut Keisuken tai Akirankaan vuoro, mutta custom-Taeyang nukke eräästä uudemmasta suosikista Nitro+Chiralin DRAMAtical Murder-visual novelista. Kurkatkaapa jatkoa niin näette kuvia customista! (Pieni varo alastomasta Taeyang-nukesta!)

Gu..ehm, Rei: "I'll just smile at your insults! Oh yeah and the swords do tend to fall off pretty easily."

Arion: "I'm Arion. And this is not a purse. This is a man bag. It's high fashion... or was during 2009 when I was released."

Rei:" ---? Oh you're a time traveller!"

Arion: "Well... not exactly. Although, it's fairly easy for us angels to do the time warp again! *bragging* :3 Let's go meet the others. There hasn't been a new Taeyang around here in a while. If we don't count that guy that came in pieces in a small box..."

Rei: "O___O In pieces... In a small box? What are you, the mob? It's a good thing I have these swords with me. One begins to wonder what is in that.. 'man-bag'..."

A pic to show the details on the back of the coat. The doll is made after a character from a Japanese TV-show GARO. I've never watched the show, I just liked how this doll looks. After some research, the show does seem pretty interesting. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garo_%28TV_series%29) I think I might watch an episode or two.

I haven't been too much into Groove Inc. dolls (Pullip, Taeyang etc...) for a while. Lately I've started to regain interest in them though. When compared to BJDs they are but toys, but who says you have to compare. ;-)

Kuva takin selkämyksessä olevista yksityiskohdista. Nukke on tehty muistuttamaan hahmoa japanilaisesta TV-sarjasta, GAROsta. En tunne sarjaa, mutta pidin nuken ulkonäöstä. Pienen tutkailun jälkeen sarja tosin vaikuttaa kiintoisalta, joten saatan katsoa jakson tai pari.

En ole ollut enää niin innoissani Groove Inc. nukeista (Pullip, Taeyang jne.) pitkään aikaan. Lähiaikoina kiinnostukseni niihin on kuitenkin alkanut palailla. Jos niitä vertaa BJD-nukkeihin, ne toki ovat enemmän lelumaisia. Mutta kuka käskee vertaamaan. ;-)

Santa Claus Exists! - Spicasmago Advent Calendar 08 & 09

Ever wanted to become Santa Claus? Well, you can! In a way...
For a couple of years now, my sister and I have donated some toys every year for a Finnish charity action that collects presents for kids in families who are having it rough financially, especially during Christmas.

(It's also a good excuse to go wander around in a toy store! And I love toy stores! Haha!) Elfing around with me is Mackenzie (Dal Tina). She wanted to take part in wrapping the Christmas presents, because she now has her new Obitsu-hands on! No more broken arm and bad posing, yay!

Mackenzie: "Christmas is about spreading happiness around and taking other people into consideration too!"

Oletko koskaan halunnut olla Joulupukki? No, se on mahdollista! Ainakin tavallaan...
Olemme siskoni kanssa jo muutaman vuoden ajan ostaneet ja lahjoittaneet muutamia leluja Joulupuu-keräykseen. Siinä on ideana ostaa lahja sellaisen perheen lapselle, joilla on etenkin jouluna taloudellisesti raskasta aikaa, eikä ehkä mahdollista ostaa lainkaan joululahjoja.

(Se on myös mainio syy mennä lelukauppaan katselemaan! Ja minä rakastan lelukauppoja! Hahaa!)
Mukana tonttuilemassa Mackenzie (Dal Tina), joka halusi osallistua joululahjojen paketoimiseen, koska sillä on nyt uudet Obitsu-kätensä! Ei enää rikkinäistä rannetta ja huonoa poseerausta, yay!

Mackenzie: "Muistetaanhan ainakin jouluna levittää iloa ympärillemme ja ottaa muutkin ihmiset huomioon!"

I bought a Monster High 13 Wishes Clawdeen Wolf for a 12-year old girl. Mackenzie is quick to catch on and started testing some oriental dancemoves!
(Those 13 Wishes dolls have pretty amazing clothes, so detailed!)

Mackenzie: "All wrapped up and ready for Christmas Eve! (we receive the presents on Christmas Eve in Finland) It's fun playing Santa, you all should try it too!"

Phew, this was the first double-door of the Advent Calendar for two days this year! We'll see if I can keep up the daily posting from now on (or not...).
Oh, I almost forgot! I installed the Obitsu-hands on Mackenzie's stock body! It went great and they fit fine! They are really great at posing and I love playing around with the option hands. :3 I'm liking the Obitsu-hands so much I might try to change the whole body to Mac too!

Ai niin, melkein unohdin! Laitoin Obitsu-kädet Mackenzien stock-vartaloon! Se kävi helposti ja ne sopivat hyvin! Posettaminen on kivaa ja samoin vaihtokäsien kanssa leikkiminen. :3 Tykkään tästä nyt niin paljon että voisin jopa koittaa sitä koko Obitsu-kehon vaihtamista Macille.

Loot from Plastic Pop!

So my Plastic Pop order arrived last thursday. I wasn't expecting them until December, because when preordering, the estimated shipping time was 29. November. But here they are! (And gosh! Why do the deliverymen always ring the doorbell when I'm only half-dressed? :''D )

These are Make It Own-sets from Groove Inc., who produces Pullip-collector dolls. MIO for short. It means that you get an un-painted, un-assembled doll set without any clothing so you can come up with your own idea for a doll. So the possibilities are endless - much like with BJDs.

I got the Taeyang and Isul -sets - that is, the male counterparts of Groove's Pullip and Dal dolls. I was sure that they'd sell quickly and sure enough, they were out of stock in Plastic Pop right on the day these sets arrived. So it was wise to preorder. :3

No niin, Plastic Popin tilaukseni saapui viime torstaina. En itseasiassa odottanut sitä ennen joulukuuta, koska ennakkotilatessa arvioitu saapumisaika oli 29. marraskuuta. Mutta ne ovat täällä! (Ja hitsit! Miksi lähetti-ihmiset osaavat aina soittaa ovikelloa juuri silloin kun olen aamutohinoissa ja puolipukeissa? :''D )

Nämä ovat Make It Own-settejä Groove Inc.:ltä, joka on tunnettu siitä että se valmistaa Pullip-keräilynukkeja. Lyhykäisesti MIO-settien ideana on se, että saat meikittömän ja kokoamattoman nuken joten voit tehdä siitä millaisen itse haluat. Mahdollisuudet ovat mittavat - aivan kuin BJD-nukeilla.

Minä valitsin Taeyang- ja Isul-setit eli miesnuket. Olin ihan varma että Taeyangit ja Isulit myydään ekana ja niin siinä kävikin että Plastic Popin varasto oli myyty loppuun jo heti kun nuket saapuivat sinne. Joten oli viisasta ennakkotilata. :3

This is what it looks like when you open the box. Brings a do-it-yourself-android-kit to mind. That's not a bad mental-image since I love robots. :)
This is the Taeyang-set. Taeyangs and Isuls are my favorites out of Groove's dolls. I love their bodies... (eh that sounded a bit wrong)... meaning that they pose rather nicely and are sturdy if compared to Pullips and Dals which are more fragile.

I also like the Taeyang-face sculpt most out of the dolls in the Pullip-doll line. It looks nice even when blank.

Tältä se sitten näyttää kun boksin availee. Tuo mieleen tee-se-itse-andoidi-setin. Ja se ei ole lainkaan huono mielleyhtymä minusta koska rakastan robotteja. :)
Tämä on Taeyang-setti. Taeyangit ja Isulit ovat Grooven nukeista lemppareimpiani. Tykkään niiden kehoista... eh, siis siinä mielessä että ne posettavat melko hyvin ja ovat kestäviä jos verrataan Pullipeihin ja Daleihin, jotka ovat herkempiä rikkoutumaan.

Tykkään Taeyangin naama-sculptista myös eniten kaikista Pullip-perheen nukeista. Se näyttää kivalta blankonakin.

The eye-mechanism. Looks like this one will be a rather complex puzzle to put together. Funnily they've included eyelashes as well (those hairy little spider-legs you see on the right), pasted them on the side of the box. Somehow I find them immensely amusing.

Silmämekanismi. Vaikuttaa siltä, että tästä tulee melko kinkkinen palapeli koottavaksi. Minua hauskuuttivat nuo mukaan tökätyt silmäripset (nuo karvaiset rimpsut tuossa oikealla), jotka oli kiinnitetty paketin kylkeen.

Makoto, My Isul MAO custom as an example of what could be expected of an Isul doll. Can you believe it, this is my first photo of a Groove doll in ages! I've been more into BJDs for a long time now, mainly because I never really felt statisfied with my Groove-doll photography...
I'm not perfect in photographing BJDs either but personally I find it easier than shooting Groove dolls. And I like posing BJDs better than these, I love the tension that the stringing causes in BJDs.

However, I'm starting to rekindle my interest into these little buggers more and more now.

Olen ollut enemmän kiinni BJD-harrastuksessa lähiaikoina, enimmäkseen siitä syystä että en koskaan ollut oikein tyytyväinen Groove-nukeista ottamiini kuviin...
En ole täydellinen BJD-kuvaamisessakaan, mutta se on silti minulle helpompaa kuin Groove-nukkien kuvaus. Ja tykkään enemmän BJD-nukkien asettelusta, rakastan sitä jännitystä, jonka stringaus aiheuttaa BJDillä ja saa ne ikäänkuin kantamaan omaa painoaan.

Nyt olen kuitenkin sytyttelemässä uudelleen intoani näihin pikku pallopäihin.

I think if I could choose, I'd dress in Black Peace Now and Alice and The Pirates -outfits all the time. :''D

I've never put an Obitsu-body on a Pullip doll, but my Dal Tina (or Mackenzie as I've named her) has a broken arm and a floppy body so I decided to try a hybrid body for her. Alas, you should always check before buying, this is a soft bust body and apparently you can only make hybrids with hard busts. *facepalm*

Oh well, I'll just have to change the whole body then. At least she'll have bigger breasts. (Lucky for you Mackenzie, eh?)
I rather like the look of this body, though. I've only ever seen a male Obitsu doll at a friend's place before, and I liked him a lot. At least I'm having fun with poking the body in the stomach, it's so springy, whee! (A-hem! This doll stuff is serious business, mind you!)

En ole koskaan vaihtanut Obitsu-vartaloa Pullip-nukelle, mutta Dal Tinani (tai Mackenzie kuten nimesin sen) käsivarsi on ollut rikki heti paketista ottamisen jälkeen ja sen vartalo on muutenkin melko lerppu ja ärsyttävä, joten päätinpä sitten kokeilla sille hybridivartaloa obitsun kanssa.

Tästä opimme että pitäisi aina tarkistaa asiat ennen kuin ostaa, tämä vartalo on soft bust ja ilmeisesti hybridejä voi tehdä vain hard bust-vartaloiden ja nuken oman stock-vartalon kanssa. *läimäyttää itseään otsaan parhaaseen Jean-Luc Picard tyyliin*

No, täytynee sitten vaan vaihtaa koko vartalo. Ainakin Mackenzie saa sitten isommat tissit. (Onnekasta vai mitä, Mac?)
Tykkään siitä miltä tämä vartalo näyttää. Olen aiemmin nähnyt Obitsu nuken vain kerran kaverin luona ja tykkäsin siitä kovasti. Minulla on myös varsin hauskaa kun huvittelen tökkimällä tämän obitsun vatsaa, se on niin joustava, hiiii! (Öh-höm! Tämä nukkeilu se on sitten vakavaa ja aikuismaista puuhaa!)

I'm hoping these might also fit a certain somedoll that a friend has ordered for me and that I heard has been shipped towards Finland recently... *being very secretive, hee*

I'm still not sure what to make of these blank Taeyang and Isul -sets I bought. I'm considering turning them into my original characters. Another option would be to customize my favorite characters from the DRAMAtical Murder and Togainu no Chi-visual novels.

I'd really like a Clear Taeyang... Hmm.
We shall see.

En ole vielä varma mitä teen noista Taeyang ja Isul-seteistä. Pohdin pitäisikö niistä tehdä omia hahmojani vaiko tuunata parit lempparihahmoni visual noveleista DRAMAtical Murder ja Togainu no Chi.

Tykkäisin kovasti Clear Taeyangista... Hmmm.

 Clear from DRAMAtical Murder. Would he make a nice Taeyang doll? I bet that gas mask would be a pain to make, haha!

My favorite character from Dmmd is Koujaku, but I'm not too keen on painting the massive tattoos he has on my Taeyang. Clear looks like he'd be easier to make, the face is much more neutral so I bet it'd be OK to paint. I also like the fact that Clear is an android, and since the taeyang in pieces already reminds me of an andoid, I think it would be fitting.
And Clear is my second fav! ^3^

Clear DRAMAtical Murderista. Tulisiko hänestä hyvä Taeyang-nukke? Kaasunaamari näyttää siltä että sitä olisi hankala tehdä, haha!

Oikeastaan lempparini tästä pelistä on Koujaku, mutta en aio lähteä maalaamaan Taeeni niitä tatuointeja. Clear olisi helpompi tehdä, kasvomeikit ovat aika neutraalit. Lisäksi pidän siitä ajatuksesta että tämä hahmo on androidi, kun palasina oleva Taeyang tuo jo valmiiksi andoidit mieleeni.
Ja Clear on minun toisiksi lempparein! ^3^
