...or how to wreck your plans on getting the current floating heads their own bodies before buying yet ANOTHER floating doll head.

I went and bought myself a nosy DollClans Vezeto-head. A sculpt I've secretly been dreaming about for over a year and have been keeping an eye on our local doll forums for one to pop up on sale. And it did.

Menin sitten ja ostin itselleni nenäkkään DollClans Vezeto-pään. Kyseessä on sculpti, josta olen salaa unelmoinut yli vuoden ja olenkin pitänyt Hartsilasten myyntiketjua silmällä jos joskus sinne tupsahtaisi Vezeto myyntiin. Ja jopas tupsahtikin.

To my knowledge, the head that is on its way to me is this one. It has a face-up by an artist called Garodoll. And the face-up is a commission work for Dolls&Party event.

I had no prior knowledge of Garodoll, but she seems to be a famous face-up artist. Or at least that's what I deduced from the fact that the face-up itself has a certificate of authenticity.

Kyseessä on tämä pääkkyliini, jolle Garodoll nimimerkillä kulkeva face-up taiteilija on tehnyt meikin. Pään meikki on ilmeisesti tilaustyönä tehty Dolls&Party tapahtumaan.

 

Garodoll taisi tätä ennen olla minulle tuntematon kuuluisuus, mutta hän lienee tunnettukin face-up taiteilija. Tai niin ainakin päättelin siitä että face-upillakin on oma aitoustodistuksensa.

 

 

 

I'm not entirely sure if this face-up is exactly what I had in mind for my Vezeto. But it does look very professional. At first when I decided to buy the head, I thought of wiping the current face-up and getting him a new one. But I'm not so sure if I have the heart to do that. Especially if the face-up is by a famous artist.

 

And when I showed my friend these pics she told me that I'd be crazy to get rid of that face-up since it's so cool. I think I might get used to this face-up if I give it some time. If I should pinpoint the thing that bugs me, it's those eyebrows. I really don't prefer my dolls to have eyebrows that are so distinctively drawn, one hair at a time. When I look at them I just see lots of HAIRS on his face, leaving that wonderful nose in their shadow...

But maybe the eyebrows won't pop out so much when he has a wig on?

En tosin ole ihan satavarma onko tuo face-up sellainen mitä olin ajatellut omalle Vezetolleni. Mutta se näyttää kyllä kovin ammattimaisesti tehdyltä. Alkuun kun tein ostopäätöksen päästä, suunnittelin pyyhkiväni tuon face-upin pois ja hankkivani nukelle uuden oman makuni mukaisen. Mutta nyt en ole enää ihan varma haluanko tehdä sitä. Varsinkin jos/kun face-up on jonkun nimekkään tekijän.

 

Ja sitten kun näytin ystävälleni näitä kuvia ja kerroin päästä, hän totesi minun olevan hullu jos pyyhin tuon face-upin pois koska se on niin siisti. Luulen että yritän totutella tähän naamaan nyt sitten.

Jos minun pitäisi osoittaa jokin tietty juttu joka minua häiritsee tässä meikissä niin se on kyllä nuo kulmakarvat. En oikeastaan välitä että nukeillani on kulmakarvat jotka on piirretty noin erottuvasti jokainen karva kerrallaan. Kun katson niitä niin näen vain paljon KARVAA nuken kasvoilla, se jättää kokonaan varjoonsa tuon ihanan nenän...

Mutta ehkäpä kulmakarvat eivät pomppaa silmille niin pahasti sitten kun nukella on peruukki päässä?

 

 

 

 

Yeah, I think my taste in dolls is leaning more and more towards the "not everyone's cup of tea"-category.

Vezeto certainly is not your average pretty boy that most of the male ball jointed dolls tend to be. Nothing wrong with pretty boy BJDs, though.

But I love Vezeto's features so much. Here's a sculpt that really stands out from the crowd in my opinion.

 

Right now as I'm writing this, I'm anxiously checking the postal tracking service time and time again to see if my Vezeto has been transported any nearer to me. :'D He's already in the same city, I'm hoping I'll get to pick him up tomor... I mean today Finnish time. :'D

Jeps, luulenpa että nukkemakuni alkaa kääntyä yhä enemmän siihen "ei ihan kaikkien pala kakkua"-osastoon.

Vezeto ei tosiaankaan ole mikään perinteinen kaunispoika kuten kovin monet BJD-miesnuket tuppaavat olemaan. Eikä kaunispoika-BJDissä toki mitään pahaa ole.

Mutta minä niin rakastan Vezeton piirteitä. Tässä on sculpti joka ainakin erottuu joukosta.

 

Tätä kirjoittaessa tsekkaan koko ajan postin lähetyksenseurantaa nähdäkseni onko Vezetoni liikahtanut yhtään lähemmäs minua. :'D On jo samassa kaupungissa, joten toiveet on korkealla että pääsen hakemaan sen postista huomen... eiku siis tänään, oho kello ehtikin jo hypätä seuraavan vuorokauden puolelle. Jopas! :'D
