Robot Girl Arrival / Volks F-12 And Vapourwave is awesomeee!
I'm working on the 26 things about me -post that I saw on Xaya's and Fyrd's blogs.. but first some dolly pics! I promised a box opening post a while ago so here you have it!
I've had some pretty challenging times at work so to compensate, I bought two second hand dolls... both of which have been dolls that I've simply adored on their former owners and never thought that they'd want to part with them. Here's the first one of the two!
My lovely box-opening assistant Izaya has a knife handy and at the ready! :D (and behold my chaotically organized bookshelf in the background.)
Kiireistä on ollut yada yada yada--- Töissä on ollut aika haastavaa aikaa, joten ostin itselleni kaksi nukkea käytettynä piristykseksi. Minulla on tapana päästä yli stressistä shoppaamalla. xD Nämä nuket ovat sellaisia, joita olen salaa ihastellut aiemmilla omistajillaan ja nyt sain molemmat itselleni kun edelliset omistajat luopuivat niistä! Tässä kaksikosta ensimmäinen.
Oon taas liian väsynyt kääntämään kaikkea suomeksi. Eiköhän kuvat puhu puolestaan!
Go ahead, Izaya, slice away! (the box, I mean)
He got a little too excited so I put him up with his... buddy, Shizuo. <3
Inside the brown box was a turquoise box!
It's the Volks MSD F-12 Shinsha/Misha. The box shows the doll's age, I'm not sure when this exact doll has been made, but addording to angelden.net this sculpt was discontinued in 2007. Which makes it the oldest Asian ball jointed doll in my possession.
I think there's something very charming about Volks' older dolls. It's like owning a piece of BJD history. ;)
This has to be the most carefully wrapped-for-shipping doll I've ever received! Thank you Nolluska, she arrived safely! <3
Oh hello there, brain surgery patient! Soon we will be able to play together!
Tää on vaan pakko sanoa suomeksi: Heippa vaan aivoleikkauspotilas! Kohta päästään leikkimään!
This model has detachable and interchangeable ear-parts. Back in the day Volks offered everything from cat ears to elf ears to robot...ear modulars? for this doll type.
(Am I the only one who thinks that place where you can attach the ear parts brings the stick of a Chupa Chups to mind? :33 )
My doll has robot ear modulars! <3
This spare wig I had laying around looks pretty nice on her!
Her body is slightly more yellow than her head but that doesn't bother me all that much. After all, I've been planning that her character is a slightly out-dated robot model, so a little discoloration just fits the story well.
Isn't she the most adorable thing? <3
Her aesthetics really remind me of 90's anime.
Just some clothes to throw on her, I think I'd like her style to be very 90's themed... Colorful and retro-futuristic.
Meanwhile, I've found a new thing(at least new to me!) that I love and that I'll be taking inspiration from for this doll. It's called Vaporwave or Future Funk. And it's awesome!!!! I can't believe I haven't stumbled upon it before!
I want this doll to be somewhat of an impersonation of Vapourwave.
"You didn't give me any shoes, so I'll be taking yours!"
All hail the uprising of super-intelligent artificial intelligence.
Pic spam is a spam of pics but I just liked these all~
There's just something about the idea of forgotten toys and abandoned robots that speaks to me and inspires me to no end.
I'm so happy to have her~ <3
Now to find clothes with the right style and come up with a good name for her!
