...yeah, yeah. I know. I just love Halloween I can't help it. It's the same in January with the Christmas Decorations too! :D

I've had a pretty dress in store for Yumeka for some time, and I made her hold it to see if it'd fit. She looked so cute clutching the dress like that, like she wanted to say she wants to wear it! I just had to take a photo... and what better place to take a photo than the Halloween decoration set up. ^^;; (And, before you ask, I put them away after I had taken this picture. Go me!)

I've used this them before, and what do you know, exactly one year ago on 2nd December! I didn't plan that, honest, pure coincidence!

...no joo joo. Minä vaan tykkään niin paljon Halloweenista että ei voi mitään, koristeita ei millään raaskisi laittaa pois. Sama se on sitten tammikuussa joulukoristeiden kanssa! :D

Minulla on ollut tuo nätti mekko Yumekalle säästössä jo jonkin aikaa ja laitoin sen pitelemään mekkoa nähdäkseni mekon sopivuuden. Yumeka näytti niin söpöltä rutistaessaan mekkoaan tuolla tavalla, että oli ihan pakko ottaa kuva siitä. Ihan kuin se sanoisi, "haluan laittaa tämän!" ...ja mikä olisikaan parempi paikka ottaa kuva kuin Halloween-koristepöytä. ^^;; (Ja ennenkuin kysytte, niin kyllä, Halloween-koristeet on jo (enimmäkseen) siivottu pois. Tein sen tämän kuvan ottamisen jälkeen. Hyvä minä!)

Tällä teemalla on otettu kuvia ennenkin, ja kappas! Täsmälleen vuosi sitten, 2. joulukuuta! Ei, tämä ei ollut suunniteltua.

Back to School -dollmeet and a New Teenie Gem doll!

Last Saturday I was in a small dollmeet in Turku. The meet was Back to School -themed so I got a chance to dress Yumeka in the sailor uniform I bought for her from Volks Akihabara shop. The meet was actually organized for members of a resin BJD forum, and Yumeka is a vinyl Dollfie Dream but I took some resin Teenie Gems with me as well...

Viime lauantaina olin pienessä nukkemiitissä Turussa. Miitin teemana oli Back to School joten sain tilaisuuden pukea Yumekalle seilorikoulupuvun, jonka ostin sille Volksin Akihabaran myymälästä. Miitti oli oikeastaan Hartsilapset-foorumin jäsenille, ja Yumeka on vinyylinen Dollfie Dream, mutta mukanani oli myös hartsisia Teenie Gem-nukkeja...

The Day I Fell in Love with Picco Neemos (or a second mini dollymeet...)

It was a week ago and I only have crappy pics to prove it, but we had another fun dolly minimeet with Safir, Poara, Tiinyan and a new addition to our gang, Elina!
Sadly Sarg was ill so she couldn't make it to the meet. :c Hope to see you next time! ^^

This time I took my Dollfie Dream Yumeka with me and she met with Poara's DD Momoko for the first time! I hope we can take better photos of the two some time. :3 The mini dolls are Safir's Azone Picco Neemos and ahh, they were SO cute. ;__;
Now I know I HAVE to get myself a Picco Neemo, sniff. I thought they would feel more fragile to the touch but they are actually really fun and sturdy to pose.

Siitä onkin jo viikko ja todisteena vain huonona kuvia, mutta meillä oli taas pieni mutta sitäkin hauskempi nukkemiitti Safirin, Janinan, Tiinyanin ja uuden ystävän, Elinan kanssa! Harmi että Sarg oli kipeänä, joten hän ei päässyt miittiin. :c Toivottavasti nähdään ensi kerralla! ^^

Tällä kertaa mukanani oli Dollfie Dream Yumeka ja hän pääsi tapaamaan ensimmäistä kertaa Janinan DD'a Momokoa! Toivottavasti saamme joskus otettua näistä kahdesta yhteiskuvia paremmissa kuvausolosuhteissa. Pikkuruiset nuket Dollfie Dreamien sylissä ovat Safirin Azone Picco Neemoja ja ahh kun ne olivat söpösiä. ;__; Nyt tiedän että Picco Neemo on PAKKO saada, sniff. Luulin että ne tuntuisivat käsissä heiveröisemmiltä, mutta ne ovatkin itseasiassa tosi hauskoja ja ihan jämäköitä poseerattavia.

So sorry for being inactive for a while. I've been busy with life issues, Instagram, and other stuff.  This is a post about me and my best friend's trip (...Trip... hohohoho) to Desucon Frostbite 2015 in Lahti two weeks ago. A little late, deal with it. :-P

Some of you have probably already seen my Frosbite photos on Instagram but I'll write a small post about the convention in this blog too!

Anteeksi kun on ollut vähän epäaktiivista postausten suhteen mutta on ollut kiireitä... kuten Instagram heheh. Nyt tulee kuitenkin postaus minun ja ystäväni reissusta Desucon Frostbiteen pari viikkoa sitten. Vähän myöhässä mutta elämä on. :-P

Jotkut teistä ovat varmaankin seuranneet kuviani Desucon Frostbite-tunnelmistani Instagramissa. Mutta tehdäänpä pieni aikahyppy ja fiilistellään conia vielä kunnolla. :3
Conissa minulla oli seuranani paras ystäväni ja tuli tapailtua muitakin tuttuja. Tänä vuonna tuntui että conissa oli enemmän ihmisiä kuin viime vuonna, ainakin välillä oli melkoinen tungos.

So! I was adventurous (adventurous for me, I'm not really a social media-kind of person), went ahead and created that Instagram account! (I'm not sure if this embed code works so tell me in the comment box if you don't see a picture here.)

I'm attending Desucon Frostbite in Lahti and the grand plan is to record my experience on Instagram. We'll see if I manage to keep it up with all the con-hassle and my Dollfie Dream Yumeka to take care of.

Spica's Year 2014 In Dolls and Figures

So yeah, this year is drawing to its conclusion. It's time to look back at what happened in this hobby for me during 2014. (I feel like it was just a little while ago I did this for the year 2013! It's scary how time flies!)

Tämä vuosi on siis kulkemassa kohti loppuaan. On aika taas vuosikatsauksen ja vilkaista mitä minun osaltani tapahtui tässä nukkeharrastuksessa vuonna 2014. (Hui tuntuu että siitä on vain hetkinen kun tein tämän postauksen vuodelle 2013! Pelottavaa miten aika rientää!)

Advent Calendar door 07 - Filler post I

Wow, I lasted whole 6 days without having to resort to my Plan B for the possible happenstance that I don't have time to take new pictures! And that happenstance is now. Plan B means I'll show older pictures that haven't been posted in the blog before and talk about them a little. I think this works well because I have some pictures in store that I really like but haven't found an occasion to use them in the blog before.

Because we had Yumeka as a Maiden of Finland in yesterday's door, I thought this picture would be appropriate to follow. I named it "Summernight Fields, Auburn-haired Girl" and it's taken at the island where our summerhouse is located, in mid-July, when the summer was at its hottest here in Finland. This picture brings last summer to my mind, and the lovely, warm and light Finnish summer nights. We went to get the newspaper in the middle of the night with Yumeka and this picture is taken from that trip.

It's one of the most popular pictures on my Flickr-account and I have to say it's one of my own all time favorites too. It is simple, but I like the atmosphere and the feeling in the picture. One of the things that I've wanted to bring out in my doll-photos, is the life we lead in Finland and I think this picture has some hint of the "Finnish summer-spirit" in it. At least to me it feels like that. Although it's mid-winter right now, Christmas brings the promise that soon winter will pass and it'll be summer again!

Wow, kestin kokonaiset kuusi päivää ilman että piti turvautua Plan B'hen sen mahdollisen tapahtuman varalle etten ehdikään ottaa uusia kuvia joulukalenteriin! Ja se tapahtuma on nyt käsillä. Plan B tarkoittaa sitä, että näytän vanhempia kuvia, joita ei ole aikaisemmin blogissa esiintynyt. Minusta tämä toimii hyvin, koska minulla on joitakin kuvia joista tykkään tosi paljon, mutta joille en ole onnistunut löytämään sopivaa hetkeä blogipostausta varten.

Koska eilisen luukussa oli Yumeka Suomi-neitona niin ajattelin että tämä kuva sopisi hyvin sitä seuraamaan. Kuva on nimeltään "Kesäöiset niityt, punahiuksinen tyttö" ja se on otettu saarella jolla kesämökkimme sijaitsee, keskikesällä jolloin kesä oli kuumimmillaan. Kuvasta minulle tulee ihan viime kesä mieleen ja ihanat, lämpimät ja valoisat kesäyöt. Kuva on otettu öisellä sanomalehdenhaku-reissulla.

Tämä kuva on yksi suosituimpia otoksia mitä Flickr-tililtäni löytyy ja täytyy sanoa että se lukeutuu myös omiin suosikkeihini. Kuva on yksinkertainen, mutta tykkään tunnelmasta joka siinä on. Yksi niistä asioista, joita haluaisin nukkekuvissani tuoda esille on suomalainen elämänmeno ja minusta tässä kuvassa on hiukan sellaista "suomalaisen kesän henkeä". Tai ainakin minulle itselleni tulee kesäilta-fiilis vahvasti mieleen kun katson tätä kuvaa. Vaikka nyt onkin keskitalvi, niin joulu tuo lupauksen siitä että talvi on pian ohitse ja tulee taas uusi kesä!

(Pakko lisätä tähän loppuun että "No onkos tullut kesä?" ;) )

Aobaca goes Tracon 2014!

Sorry for the short delay in the posts, my beloved computer Puuhamonttu or Puuhis for short died. ;__; Now I have this new cheapish 'puter with Windows8 and I'm completely at a loss on how to work with this new interface. Oh, how I miss you Windows 7...

A week ago I attended Tracon, a convention in Tampere for those who are into roleplaying, anime and manga. Fun times were had a plenty!
I haven't done any cosplaying in ages but I kind of ended up going in a casual kind of-sort of Aoba-cosplay which was very fun indeed. I'll definitely want to start getting more into cosplay for the next con I'll attend (that'll probably be Desucon Frostbite or Yukicon, if I manage to get entrance tickets in time!)

This time I didn't get to spend all that much money... I only got three DRAMAtical Murder doujinshis and a small turquoise Rainbow Alpacasso-plushie. The doujinshis have humor-oriented plots with all of the main cast as I felt that I wanted to read something light and funny as opposed to... more controversial contents. :3 DMMd characters are really suited for humor manga! I've liked the humor DMMd doujinshis more that the "actual" yaoi-kink-stuff, in fact. I especially like the one on the far left in which Aoba and co. go to the beach.

Anteeksi pieni viive postauksissa, rakas tietokoneeni Puuhamonttu tai tuttavallisemmin Puuhis kuoli viime viikolla. ;__; Nyt on tämä uusi käppänä kone jonka kanssa täytyy tulla toimeen ja Windows 8 jota olen yrittänyt opetella käyttämään. Kylläpä kaipaankin vanhaa hyvää Windows seiskaa!

Viikko sitten oli kyllä tosi hauskaa Traconissa!
En olekaan cossannut pitkään aikaan mitään/ketään, mutta päädyin sitten vetämään ylleni sen suunnitellun casual-Aoba cosplayn. Ja olen tyytyväinen että uskaltauduin tekemään niin, koska oli tosi hauskaa hillua taas jonkinmoisessa cossissa. :3 Ensi vuoden coneihin pitää kunnostautua cosplayn osalta enemmänkin (varmaan seuraavan kerran sitten Desucon Frostbiteen tai Yukiconiin, jos saan liput hankittua ajoissa!)

Tällä kertaa ei sitten tullut tuhlattua kovinkaan paljon... Ostin vain kolme huumoripainotteista DRAMAtical Murder doujinshia ja pienen turkoosin Rainbow Alpacasso-plushien. Ostin tarkoituksella huumoridoujinsheja, koska teki mieli lukea jotakin kepeää ja hauskaa. Minusta DMMd-hahmot sopivat hyvin huumorimangaan ja olenkin tykännyt enemmän huumori-DMMd-doujinsheista kuin varsinaisista yaoi-sisältöisistä. Näistä erityisesti äärimmäisenä vasemmalla oleva doujinshi jossa Aoba ja kumppanit menevät rannalle on hauska.

Kikucon 2014 Day Two!! With a Special Trip Down the Memory Lane!

Part two of the Kiku-convention post! The second day of the convention started for me and Yumeka with the badge-workshop. Fortunately they had badge- and pixel-workshops on both days so even if we missed out on them on day one we managed to squeeze in on day two!

Kikucon-postauksen toinen osa! Conin toinen päivä alkoi minun ja Yumekan osalta rintanappi-työpajalla. Kiva kun rintanappi- ja pikselipajoja oli molempina päivinä niin päästiin sentään jälkimmäisenä päivänä vaikka ekana päivänä paikat oli varattu.

Here comes the promised convention report of Kikucon 2014 at the Turku Klassikko highschool, part one!
Me and Yumeka mostly hung out with Fyrd8th, Dark and Tiirikka at the con and it was so much fun! The con was smaller than some of the other cons I've been to, but that made it feel a lot cozier. Here's a pic of Fyrd8th's namesake doll Fyrd and Yumeka on... what seems to be date? Or are the two planning for world domination!? I thought that Yumeka is my only doll who's innocently happy and cheerful all the time, but maybe she's just a good pretender?  O.o

Tässä tulee lupailtu coniraportti Kikucon 2014'sta, ensimmäiseltä päivältä!
Minä ja Yumeka hengailtiin conissa Fyrd8th, Darkin ja Tiirikan kanssa ja oli kyllä tosi hauskaa! Con oli pienempi kuin missä olen yleensä tottunut käymään, mutta se teki tunnelmasta vain mukavamman ja kotoisamman.
Tässä kuva Fyrd8th'n Fyrd-nukesta ja Yumekasta, näyttävät ihan siltä kuin olisivat treffeillä, haha! Vai suunnittelevatkohan ne maailman valloitusta? Luulin että Yumeka on ainoa viattoman iloinen ja pirteä nukkeni, mutta ehkäpä ulkoasu hämää ja hän onkin vain salakavalasti hyvä esittämään sellaista? O.o

We're going to a local convention, Kikucon with Yumeka tomorrow! The venue is at my former highschool, so I'm kind of visiting the past too. I had the best time in highschool so I have good memories from that time and place.

Olemme Yumekan kanssa menossa Kikuconiin Turussa huomenna, tulkaa ihmeessä moikkaamaan jos törmätään! Olen itse käynyt Turun Klassikossa lukioni, joten tämä on omalta osalta vierailu menneisyyteen myöskin. Lukiossa oli just parasta, joten minulla on kosolti hyviä muistoja siitä ajasta ja paikasta.

お友達 ~Friends~ 夢花のアドベンチャー 第一巻

 My shipment from Mandarake Complex Akihabara that I mentioned in this post came safely home, despite my nervousness! :D 

I'm always super-nervous when ordering from a place I've never ordered from before and especially if something that I really, truly desire is being shipped.

It took about two weeks for my parcel to reach me and I guess it would have been even faster if not for the Easter holidays and for the delay due to the customs office ordeal. But yeah, I'm very pleased with the service from Mandarake and will buy from them again in the future! 

In fact, I'll make a review post of ordering from there, because I would have found one very useful when I was ordering. (now I can give special thanks to Nolluska at our local dolly-forums for answering my questions on payment confirmation and other things.)

Olen aina ihan super-hermostunut, kun tilaan jotakin paikasta josta en ole aiemmin tilannut ja etenkin jos tilattu asia on sellainen mitä ihan tosissani haluan.

Lähetys kesti parisen viikkoa ennen kuin pääsi huomaani ja olisi varmaan tullut nopeamminkin, jos välissä ei olisi ollut pääsiäislomia ja tullia. Mutta jes, olen hyvin tyytyväinen Mandaraken palveluun ja ostan sieltä vielä uudestaankin varmasti!
